Gorgeous Foxy cats with bushy tails and loads of love...

Faeridew Faradeh - Ruddy Somali

The Somali is the longer coated cousin of the Abyssinian. This breed has it all. They are gorgeous to behold, they look wild, but they're soft and affectionate, they're intelligent and they're superb fun. The most popular colour is the Ruddy as pictured on this page, but the Sorrel, Blue and Silver are always in big demand. These cats have wild foxy tails and lovely dense coats. The kittens seem almost black when they are born. It is a very healthy and charming breed indeed - my favourite. Faradeh (pictured here) is my youngest cat at the moment. She was bred by my friend Carola in Cape Town. I fell hopelessly in love with her mother whilst judging at a show there and a year and six months later fell all over in love with the daughter - now she's mine!

Mandy's Purr New York Bosworth Shelley

New York (on the left) was a magical cat who charmed the world and made beautiful babies. He was bred by Amanda Roodt. On the right is Bosworth Shelley - owned and bred by Joyce and Bob Hopkin. She and her brother Storm had a superb show season recently, both doing well in the Cat of the Year lineup.

Karnaki Arkadi

Karnaki Arkadi was South Africa's first Supreme Champion Somali. A rather large boy, but with an impressive strong face and a tiny voice. He loved walking on a harness and enjoyed interacting with members of the public at shows and exhibitions. He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge when he was 11 years old.
Karnaki Dushara Rafiki Friend

Karnaki Dushara Rafiki Friend (pictured right)- better known as Squeak - you guessed it - his little voice. He was bred by Teresa Guldager of Denmark. Squeak arrived with a variant Aby. A variant is a cat that carries the long-haired gene and is used in Somali breeding. The short-haired kittens from such a litter can be shown but not used for Aby breeding at all.

Karnaki Dushara Any Colour You Like?

This gorgeous girl is Dushara Any Colour You Like - bred by Teresa too. She was known as Miss World to everyone, believing she owned everyone and the world was her slave.

Karnaki Dana Dushara

Dana is a Silver Somali I bred who now lives in Denmark. He is a big boy with a big personality. The Silvers are really gaining popularity fast here in South Africa especially with some great new lines - also from Denmark.
